COMMON FEATURES OF DISPLAY UNITS FOR MACHINE TOOLS

keyboard programmable machine parameters algebraic sum of several transducers

· remembers co-ordinates on power down

· incremental / absolute modes

· programmable setpoint

· diameter/radius conversion

· autodiagnostics

· linear compensation of the geometric errors (Abbe errors)

· compensation of the non-linearity by tract

· programmable origins

· calculation of the average point

· 1, 2 or 3 axis versions available

· display the co-ordinates on 7-digit green LED’s

· detection circuit for count error

  • input signal for execution setpoint (VISOREF). Allow the acquisition of an external machine zero signal that makes the detection of a unique absolute zero along the axis possible. It is defined by the simultaneous presence of the zero signal from the encoder/optical ruler and the machine zero signal.

· 3 output relays with signal of slow and zero reached (VISOSTOP)

· standard RS232 serial interface, for connecting to a serial printer or a Personal Computer (VISOSER)

· interface for handling a Renishaw type or compatible electronic probe for detecting the co-ordinates of mechanical features (VISOTAST)

· mounting on a swivel arm for mounting the unit on a machine (VISOARM). The design of the swivel arm ensures that that the display is always fully visible to the operator

VIDEO

Universal programmable display unit, with an 8" green phosphor CRT monitor, where, apart from the co-ordinates, tool tables, work programs etc. can be entered and read.

The functions and main features are the same as the model "PLUS"

The model VISODATA VIDEO also has an analogue output for spindle regulation - constant cutting speed (VISOFIX). Thus it is possible to control the cutting speed on a lathe, controlling the spindle speed according to the position of the tool with respect to the workpiece, so that the speed remains constant as the tool approaches the centre of the piece.

The model also gives the possibility of viewing view the output from a video camera VISOCAM, positioned over the piece to be gauged, directly on its screen.

Thanks to a high degree of enlargement and to a cursor cross at the centre of the screen, it is easy to make a perfect placement on the point to be measured.

Once the first point has been determined, the unit acquires the co-ordinates and displacing the axes of the table until the cross coincides with the second point, it can calculate the distance.

Using the same method, it is possible to calculate the average point, the centre of radius or the radius of a circumference, the distance between two holes. It is also possible to connect an industrial 15" monochrome monitor VISOMON or a 21" colour monitor VISOCOL.

A version (VIDEO PR) with customised software is available for use with equipment with preset tools.
